Helen's Bio


 

HELEN F. COPELAND

 

With more than 20 years of community relations and training experience, Helen Copeland has developed a passion for mentoring and a sharp eye for how individuals and organizations can benefit from effective mentoring.  Her clients have ranged from educational institutions like:  Polaris Career Center, John Carroll University, Myers University, Painesville School District, and Ursuline College.  In addition, she has also provided mentoring expertise for The National Black MBA Association (Cleveland Chapter), Project TEAM (Teaming Education and Athletes through Mentoring), and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland.

Prior to Copeland Communications Group, Helen was the Mentoring Coordinator for The Cleveland Clinic Foundation/John Hay High School Partnership.  Currently, she works with organizations to implement mentoring training programs.  Her area of expertise includes recruiting mentors, training mentors, mentees, support staff, developing mentoring guidelines, and facilitating workshops.  The workshops are designed to give participants the skills, support, and enthusiasm to make the mentoring experience a success.

A firm believer in giving back to the community, she is an active volunteer in several Cleveland area organizations.  Currently, she is a mentor for the Youth Innovation Forum at the Consortium of African-American Alliances (CAAO).  In addition, she has served as a mentor in the Career Mentoring Network at Ursuline College, and a presenter for mentoring workshops at Dress for Success Cleveland.  She received a B.A. degree in Public Relations from Ursuline College and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Ursuline.  Helen is a member of The Peer Resource Network, and the National Black MBA Association.
